Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze bolstered his quarterback room this week with a player who took down Alabama this past season.

Former Oklahoma quarterback Jackson Arnold confirmed on his social media that he will be joining the Tigers after two seasons with the Sooners. During his first season as the starter in 2024, Arnold had a largely disappointing campaign passing for 1,421 yards, rushing for 444 yards with 15 total touchdowns and three interceptions as Oklahoma finished the year 6-6.

But Arnold’s claim to fame, which is likely what garnered the attention from Freeze, was his instrumental play in the Sooners’ 24-3 beatdown of Alabama which ultimately cost it at a chance of making the College Football Playoff.

During that game, Arnold passed for a subtle 68 yards on the day but gashed the Crimson Tide’s defense on the ground rushing for 131 of the team’s 260 yards that day.

Arnold was also one of the top quarterback prospects in the class of 2023 brining more pedigree to a Tigers room that has seen its fair share of struggles over the course of Freeze’s tenure.
