Alabama AD tells Tide fans to “fight back” by helping fund NIL collective

Alabama AD Greg Byrne at Bryant-Denny Stadium during 2019 season

The University of Alabama’s Athletic Director Greg Byrne feels it is time for “Bama Nation” to fight back in the NIL era.

The Crimson Tide and the rest of college football are feeling the impact of NIL and the transfer portal. Money offers are impacting the decisions college football players make.

Byrne shared Alabama players are been lured away for millions of dollars in his plea to get Alabama fans involved with donating money to Alabama’s Yea Alabama program.

“Although we have been competitive from an NIL standpoint, our competition has us in their sights and are actively trying to surge ahead with NIL. You have heard examples of other teams using promises of million-dollar paydays to lure away our players or convince them not to come to Alabama. It is time for the Bama Nation to fight back,” Byrne said in a post to X.

Byrne encouraged Alabama fans to visit yea-alabama.com/join/ to join the fight.
