Texas football’s head coach Steve Sarkisian does not like the fact Vanderbilt’s quarterback, Diego Pavia, was giving an extra year of eligibility.
Pavia will play his sixth year of college football in 2025. A federal court granted him the extra year due to him playing two seasons of junior college football before transferring to New Mexico State and Vanderbilt.
Sarkisian feels this is not the right move.
“I totally disagree with the NCAA’s determination on this,” Sarkisian said. “We chose to go to junior college football and.
And that’s where we wanted to start and play our career. So I don’t understand it at all. We’re going to have guys 28, 29 years old playing. What’s the point, man? I don’t get it.
I don’t understand it. I totally disagree with it.”
Alabama will get a shot at Pavia next season when he returns to Tuscaloosa with Vanderbilt.
