One former Alabama offensive lineman is set to re-enter the transfer portal after spending one season in the Big 12.
On Friday, TCU center James Brockermeyer officially entered the transfer portal. The Texas native began his college career in Tuscaloosa alongside his twin brother Tommy Brockermeyer. In three seasons at Alabama, Brockermeyer played in 14 games. He served as the team’s backup center during the 2023 season.
Following the conclusion of the 2023 season, Brockermeyer entered the transfer portal and chose to transfer closer to home to play for TCU. In one season in Fort Worth, Brockermeyer started all 12 games at the center position. He allowed just one sack in 500 pass blocks. He played in a total of 812 snaps for the Horned Frogs in 2024. Following the season, he was named a Big 12 All-Conference Honorable Mention.
Now, the former four-star will look to finish out his college career elsewhere. It is unclear if Alabama is interested in a potential reunion at this time. Nonetheless, it will be interesting to see where Brockermeyer concludes his college playing days.
