After a lopsided first half of the Penn State-SMU game, Ole Miss head coach and former Alabama assistant coach Lane Kiffin displayed his frustration on X toward the College Football Playoff committee.
Kiffin said, “Way to keep us on the edge of our seats Committee …. Riveting”. The comment comes during halftime of the semifinal matchup on Saturday afternoon. Kiffin is alluding to the fact that the committee left out the Rebels in favor of SMU. The Mustangs simply look outmatched and out of place against the Nittany Lions.
Like Kiffin, former Alabama players and media personnel have voiced their opinion on three-loss teams like Alabama, Ole Miss, and South Carolina being left out of the inaugural 12-team College Football Playoff in favor of the Mustangs.
The disapproval with the committee’s decision will continue to mount as SEC fanbases become more and more disgruntled with their decision to place SMU in the College Football Playoff. Kiffin’s opinion will resonate in the coming days and weeks as people continue to voice their frustration.
