Jalen Milroe reveals how he felt after College Football Playoff first round results in lopsided victories

Alabama quarterback, Jalen Milroe and the Crimson Tide aren’t soaking after being the first team to miss the inaugural College Football Playoff and seeing the teams picked over ahead of them all lose.

Alabama football was left with a sour taste in their mouths after finishing its regular season at 9-3 and having their postseason dreams come to an end earlier this month. The Tide have now shifted their focus and started preparation against Michigan and the ReliaQuest Bowl. Milroe made this apparent after practice on Saturday when asked his thoughts by reporters about the postseason after the college football world saw Indiana, SMU, and Clemson all fall in mostly non-competitive games.

“I think for us, we’ve got to acknowledge what we did,” Milroe said. “You know, we’ve got to take care of the opportunities we had in the season. We had every opportunity in the season to take advantage of that and extend our season. And with that, we just can’t look at hypotheticals. We’ve got to take care of right now and focus on Michigan. We can’t take care of what was done in the past. And for us, we do acknowledge what we need to do to turn every weakness into a strength and make our strengths even stronger. So, all we want to do is perform. Every opportunity we have to play the game we love, we’ve got to do that and not look at what we can’t control. Just control the uncontrollables, so that’s the best thing for our team right now.”

Milroe and the Crimson Tide now gear up to face the Wolverines and end their 2024 season on a high note in the ReliaQuest Bowl.
