The West Virginia Mountaineers have announced the official hiring of Micheal Nysewander as its new tight ends coach.
Nysewander is a former Alabama tight end and H-Back, who played for the Crimson Tide in three National Championships in 2011, 2012 and 2015.
Nysewander went undrafted and sign with the Kansas City Chiefs as a free agent in the NFL. After his short professional stint, he entered the coaching profession as a running backs coach with the Samford Bulldogs before joining Lane Kiffin’s support staff at Florida Atlantic in 2017.
Nysewander would later follow Kiffin to Ole Miss, where he served as a Senior Analyst for the Rebels for three seasons. He then joined the Jacksonville Gamecocks as a tight ends and inside receivers coach.
After two seasons in conference-USA, Nysewander now takes his coaching expertise to the BIG 12 to instruct the Mountaineers tight ends room.
