The West Virginia Mountaineers have announced the official hiring of Micheal Nysewander as its new tight ends coach.
Nysewander is a former Alabama tight end and H-Back, who played for the Crimson Tide in three National Championships in 2011, 2012 and 2015.
Nysewander went undrafted and sign with the Kansas City Chiefs as a free agent in the NFL. After his short professional stint, he entered the coaching profession as a running backs coach with the Samford Bulldogs before joining Lane Kiffin’s support staff at Florida Atlantic in 2017.
Nysewander would later follow Kiffin to Ole Miss, where he served as a Senior Analyst for the Rebels for three seasons. He then joined the Jacksonville Gamecocks as a tight ends and inside receivers coach.
After two seasons in conference-USA, Nysewander now takes his coaching expertise to the BIG 12 to instruct the Mountaineers tight ends room.
Trevion Ware is from Dallas, Tx, born February 16th. Trevion is a 2018 high school graduate from Dallas Carter High School. Trevion attended 3 colleges as a student & former college track athlete; Texas A&M University-Commerce, Butler Community College, and The University of Louisiana at Monroe. Trevion first attended Texas A&M University-Commerce in 2018-2019 and competed in D2 NCAA, before transferring to Butler Community College in spring 2020. Trevion then went on to compete in JUCO and graduate with his associates degree in liberal arts in spring 2021. Trevion would later transfer to the University of Louisiana at Monroe and competed in D1 NCAA during 2022, before ultimately stepping from track and deciding to focus on a career in sports journalism. Trevion then graduated in the spring of 2024 with his bachelors degree in Mass Communications. Trevion is now a team journalist & reporter, covering Alabama Football for Touchdown Alabama Magazine.
