Zion Elee is locked in on his commitment to Maryland but is open to getting a look at Alabama football in the future.
Elee is a 2026 five-star prospect out of St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, Maryland. He is considered by multiple sites to be the country’s best 2026 edge prospect.
Alabama was in Elee’s top five before he committed to the Terrapins despite not visiting the Crimson Tide since earning an offer from them.
The Maryland product wants to see what Alabama has to offer in a potential future visit.
“I want to get down there and see what it is like in person,” Elee said at the Under Armour All-America media day.
Elee has been in contact with the Crimson Tide’s general manager Courtney Morgan.
The 6-foot-5, 225-pounder possesses prototypical size and length for a future edge defender. He flashes a quick get-off at the line of scrimmage and impressive backside pursuit when he is getting after ball carries. He also shows an ability to use his length to his advantage in a variety of ways, including to keep offensive linemen out of his chest and to tip balls once quarterbacks release a pass.
