Former Alabama players to serve as assistant coaches at Georgia high school

Former Alabama players Blake Sims and Deonte Brown will be coaching together at the high school level. The two will be serving as assistant coaches at Mt. Bethel Christian Academy in Marietta, Georgia. The school announced the moves on X on Sunday.

Sims was hired as the school’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach in March of 2023. He will continue to have that role with the team moving forward.

Brown is just getting into coaching. The former Alabama offensive lineman has been playing at the professional level since 2021. He spent time with the Carolina Panthers and the Birmingham Stallions of the UFL.

Now, Brown will serve as the offensive line coach for the Eagles. He and Sims will be key assistants on the offensive side of the ball for a squad that finished the 2024 season with a 5-1 record.
