Coaches vote to limit the transfer portal window

Coaches at the American Football Coaches Association Convention showed a ton of support for limiting the transfer portal window to one 10-day window in January.

There are currently two transfer portal windows. One is in December and one is in April. The 10-day window would eliminate both windows.

This voting becomes a recommendation and will be move to the NCAA oversight committee and ultimately the NCAA Division I council for final approval.

“In a unanimous show of support, Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) coaches voted Tuesday in favor of a proposal that would reduce college football’s transfer windows down to a single 10-day period in January in an effort to preserve the integrity of bowl season and put guardrails on a system many coaches lament as entirely broken,” ESPN’s David Hale wrote

There is likely to be several approaches to changing the transfer portal rules discussed in the future.
