The Alabama coaching staff has been busy on the recruiting trail in the past few weeks. Several days ago, Alabama offensive line coach Chris Kapilovic took an in-home visit with former Alabama commit and 2026 offensive line prospect Zykie Helton.
Helton was committed to Alabama under the old coaching staff. He was a verbal commitment to the Crimson Tide from July of 2023 to March of 2024. The new coaching staff has made Helton feel like a priority and will continue to keep in contact with the Georgia native in the coming weeks and months.
Helton plays for Carrollton High School in Carrollton, Georgia. He is listed at 6-foot-2 and 280 pounds. Helton has played both sides of the ball during his high school career. He will likely be an interior offensive lineman at the college level.
Several other programs that are making a push for Helton’s commitment are Georgia, Colorado, Florida State, and Ole Miss.
He will take visits to multiple schools in the future. Alabama sits in a good position as things stand despite the changes on the coaching staff during his recruitment.
