Kalen DeBoer was asked about the possibility of adding Ryan Grubb to his Alabama staff on Tuesday.
Grubb coached under DeBoer at Washington when the Huskies made it to the National Championship during the 2023 season. He was expected to join DeBoer at Alabama, but he decided to stay in Washington and take the job as the Seattle Seahawks’ offensive coordinator. He was fired by the Seahawks after one year.
DeBoer discussed his relationship with Grubb when asked if he had taken adding Grubb to his Alabama staff under consideration.
“We go way back,” DeBoer said. “Great friend of mine. I think the world of him as a football coach, obviously as a person too. I know he’s working through his process, just kind of after what last season brought,. So, just gotta see what he does there and I am here for him whenever he needs me. That’s always going to be the case.”
DeBoer spent some time Tuesday supporting the Alabama players participating in the Reese’s Senior Bowl.
