After some time away from football, former Alabama strength and conditioning coach Scott Cochran is returning to the game he loves. Cochran was hired as West Alabama’s new head coach on Monday. The school announced the news via X.

Cochran was a part of helping Alabama and Nick Saban establish a strong foundation in the weight room. He spent 13 years with the Crimson Tide.

The Louisiana native was most famously known for hyping up the players and saying “Yeah, yeah, yeah.” He brought the energy, and that is something that he will look to do at West Alabama.

The Tigers compete at the Division II level. Cochran will take over a program that finished the 2024 season with a 9-2 overall record. It will be interesting to see how Cochran fares as a head coach. His largest role throughout his coaching career came during his most recent stop at Georgia. He served as special teams coordinator.
