Former Alabama safeties coach Colin Hitschler has been hired as the new defensive coordinator at James Madison University.
Hitschler spent the 2024 season with the Crimson Tide. He served as the team’s safeties coach.
Prior to joining Alabama’s coaching staff, Hitschler served as the co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach at Wisconsin.
This move will give Hitschler full play-calling duties for the first time in his college coaching career. It will be interesting to see how he fares in Harrisonburg.
