Former Alabama long snapper Thomas Fletcher has been hired as the new special teams coordinator at West Alabama. He will join the coaching staff of former Alabama strength and conditioning coach Scott Cochran. Cochran was recently hired as the head coach at West Alabama.

Fletcher was a long snapper at Alabama from 2017 to 2020. In 2020, he won the Patrick Mannelly Award that goes to college football’s top long snapper.

After his college career concluded, Fletcher was drafted in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers. He spent one season with the organization before being waived.

In November of 2022, he spent a season in the XFL with the Seattle Sea Dragons.

In 2024, he joined Florida’s coaching staff as a special teams assistant. Now, he will serve in a larger role with the Tigers. It will be interesting to see how Fletcher and Cochran fare in Livingston during the 2025 season.
