During the 2024 season, Alabama was led offensively by the receiving duo of Germie Bernard and Ryan Williams. The two combined to have 98 receptions for 1,669 yards and 10 touchdowns. Aside from Bernard and Williams, Alabama did not see much production of the rest of the receiving core.

The rest of the group combined to reel in just 44 receptions for 541 yards and three touchdowns. That will need to change if Alabama has hopes of improving from a disappointing 9-4 finish to the 2024 season.

The biggest question is: Who will step up for the Crimson Tide during the 2025 season to compliment Bernard and Williams?

Several of the players that are poised to step up are redshirt freshman Rico Scott, redshirt sophomore Jalen Hale, senior Isaiah Horton, and redshirt sophomore Cole Adams.

One of the four will be tasked with being WR3 for the Crimson Tide. Each of which are promising options.

Horton transferred to Alabama this offseason from Miami. The Tennessee native posted a career-high 56 receptions for 616 yards and five touchdowns with the Hurricanes. He will be a reliable, experienced option at wide receiver for the Crimson Tide.

Perhaps the most intriguing player out of the group is Jalen Hale. After suffering a season-ending injury in fall camp, Hale is slated to return to action in the spring. He is a big play waiting to happen. As a true freshman, Hale averaged almost 30 yards per catch.

Scott and Adams will each see increased playing time given the fact that six wide receivers transferred from Alabama this offseason. The two of them flashed signs of potential during the 2024 season.

There should be a strong supporting cast to alleviate some of the pressure off the backs of Bernard and Williams. Offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb is known for having a pass-first offense and will be sure to get as many playmakers involved in the offense as possible.

The group surrounding Alabama’s top-two wideouts seems to be a talented group that features a blend of talent, experience, and playmaking ability.
