CJ Cowley used Under Armour Atlanta stop to show why he is next up at running back for the state of Alabama.
Cowley is a product of Spain Park High School in Hoover, Alabama. His offer list rivals some of the country’s best prospects with offers from Auburn, Arkansas, Oregon, Penn State and others.
Sunday was a coming out party for the Spain Park product as he flashed to potential to be one of the best all-around backs in the country while taking home the running back MVP Award.

The sophomore considers his early recruiting success to be motivation.
“That’s a blessing to be in the position I am in right now,” Cowley told Touchdown Alabama. “It’s just great. I still work hard. I work harder. I do not let the offers get to me. Right now, I’m at no offers. I’m working to get my first one. I’m working to get my second one. That’s my mindset going into it.”
Alabama has not offered the in-state recruit yet, but the Auburn Tigers have. He considers the Tigers to be one of his top choices at the moment with how they make him feel like family, but Alabama is a school he would have interest in if they offered.
“It would be great to have an offer from Alabama,” said Cowley. “I would have an opportunity to stay home.”
At 5-foot-11 and 180 pounds, Cowley finished the 2024 season with 793 yards and nine touchdowns. He also contributed in the passing game with 239 receiving yards and five receiving touchdowns. He is an explosive running back and is easily one of the best route runners out of the backfield in the entire country.
“I feel like I could be everything well, especially my ability to be able to be like a receiver, so, being all-purpose.”
