Alabama football’s true freshman quarterback Keelon Russell was recognized as the Baller of the Year by the Elite 11.
Russell earned this recognition with his exceptional play as a senior for Duncanville High School. The early enrollee finished the 2024 season with 4,177 passing yards and 58 total touchdowns while completing 69 percent of his passes. He earned the Elite 11 MVP award before his senior season.
Russell has not been shy about discussing his goals in year one in Tuscaloosa.
“Getting the starting position by any means, competing,” Russell said before enrolling at Alabama. “The mindset is going to be like shift gears and win National Championships, Heismans get accolades, and that’s the mindset.”
Alabama fans will get their first look at the former five-star this spring.
