An illegal touching penalty called on Alabama against Oklahoma has been called one of the worst officiating calls of the 2024 season.
The flag was thrown in the fourth quarter on a play where Ryan Williams pulled in a reception for a touchdown. The score would have cut the Sooners’ lead to two scores and possibly given the Tide momentum to make a comeback on the road.

ON3 has the call ranked at No. 8 among its list of worst officiating calls of the 2024 football season.
One could say the penalty had a lasting impact on the Crimson Tide’s 2024 season. The loss to Oklahoma prove to one of the nails in the coffin of the Crimson Tide’s playoff hopes.
