Will Alabama football be active in the spring transfer portal window?
The Crimson Tide added multiple transfers after the 2024 football season wrapped up and the transfer portal opened.
A spring window will open on April 16 and close on April 25. Here is a look at three possible positions the Tide could target:
Kicker
The Crimson Tide’s starting kicker from 2024 Graham Nicholson is taking his talents to the NFL. This leaves Conor Talty as the Tide’s only scholarship kicker. Talty did handle all of the Alabama kick-off duties in 2024, but he has never kicked a field goal in a game outside of extra-point attempts. If an experienced and productive kicker becomes available, it would not be a surprise if Alabama went after them.
Offensive Line
Kalen DeBoer has admitted the Crimson Tide struggled with depth along the offensive line in 2024. DeBoer felt they were a few numbers away from where they should have been. Alabama did add pieces to its offensive line in the 2025 recruiting class and from the transfer portal after the 2024 season, but the spring transfer portal window works both ways. The Tide could lose some players to the portal and the offensive line is a group they would rather it not happen to. If it happens, look for Alabama to find replacements.
Tight End
Alabama showers interest in a couple of tight ends during the previous transfer portal window with Robbie Ouzts and CJ Dippre moving on to the NFL. The Tide returns Josh Cuevas and Danny Lewis. Both have experience at tight end. The rest of the room is young and inexperienced. Alabama could revisit their interest in adding a tight end during the spring.
