Alabama’s wide receiver room will look different next season in several ways. Six wide receivers on Alabama’s roster from a season ago transferred elsewhere during the offseason. The two leading receivers — Ryan Williams and Germie Bernard headline the group of players returning at the position. One player in particular that has a strong chance of carving out a meaningful role at wide receiver next season is Cole Adams. Where does the rising junior fit in at the wide receiver position for Alabama heading into spring practices?

Adams, a redshirt freshman last season, suffered a season-ending injury against Missouri in Week 8 against Missouri. Prior to the injury, Adams had become a mainstay in Alabama’s offense at slot receiver. He reeled in six receptions for 94 yards for the Crimson Tide in 2024. His injury led to a lot of readjusting on offense for Alabama. His presence at wide receiver as well as on special teams was beneficial to say the least.

With Alabama bringing in three new wide receivers this offseason and Jalen Hale returning after missing the entire season due to injury, it will be interesting to see where Adams fits in at wide receiver. His playmaking ability and niftiness should help him see opportunities in the slot. After all, he is the most experienced slot receiver on Alabama’s roster heading into the spring with Kobe Prentice and Kendrick Law transferring during the offseason.

The Oklahoma native is poised to do big things for Alabama in 2025. Needless to say, it will be interesting to see how the coaching staff decides to use Adams in the offensive gameplan.
