Kalen DeBoer tells why Alabama football’s 2025 offseason feels ‘completely different’

Kalen DeBoer feels things are ‘completely different’ for the Alabama Crimson Tide this offseason.

DeBoer and Alabama football were faced with multiple challenges around this time last year. He was barely a month into the job, Alabama was trying to rebound from losing players to the portal and multiple coaching changes were underway.

The second-year Alabama head coach appreciates his players and coaches taking what they have learned from the last year and implementing it into their off-season work.

“We need to be that championship program,” DeBoer said on the “Will Cain Show.” “That just means you got to prepare at a championship level. This is the time you build your team is in the offseason and really proud of the way our guys continue to take everything we’ve learned, continue to grow. We are a year into it now, and it just feels completely different. A year ago at this time, we were still trying to hire about three more coaches this week with spring ball starting less than two weeks from now. So, we’re in a much better position. It really means nothing. It’s still about the work, but I like where we’re headed.”

Alabama fans will get their first peak at DeBoer’s second Alabama team on April 12 when the Tide host their annual spring game.
