Allen was selected in the first round by Washington in the 2017 NFL draft out of Alabama. In eight seasons, Allen has registered one interception, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, five pass deflections, 42 sacks and 401 tackles. This play has earned Allen two Pro Bowl appearances and recognition as one of the games most disruptive defensive forces.
The Commanders now put Allen on the trade block with a non-guaranteed $15.5 million dollar base salary and one season left remaining on his current four-year deal.
Allen is expected to generate a market of suitors as Washington fields calls from around the league.
