Former Alabama tight end CJ Dippre had an informal meeting with the San Francisco 49ers earlier this week at the NFL Combine. The news was reported by Rohan Chakravarthi of Niners Nation.

Dippre is likely to be a Day 2 or Day 3 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Over the course of his college career, Dippre showed steady improvement as both a run blocker and pass catcher.

During his two seasons at Alabama, Dippre reeled in 32 receptions for 443 yards. He was a reliable target in Alabama’s offense for quarterback Jalen Milroe.

At 6-foot-5 and 250 pounds, Dippre projects to play the Y-tight end spot. He has the skillset and potential to be a impactful tight end on some team’s roster.

The 49ers are known for getting tight ends involved in the offensive gameplan. In the past, the 49ers have used George Kittle and Kyle Juszczyk in a multitude of ways. Not to mention, the organization also drafted former Alabama tight end Cameron Latu in 2023. Could Dippre end up in San Francisco? It will be interesting to follow Dippre’s pre-draft visits and upcoming draft projections following his combine outing.
