In Yea Alabama’s most recent roster update, jersey numbers were posted for incoming freshmen, transfers, and returning players that are changing their number. One name and number that stood out in particular was No. 48 Jayden Hobson.
Hobson began his college career as an offensive tackle at Mississippi State. He redshirted as a true freshman in 2023 and transferred to South Alabama the following spring. He did not play for the Jaguars in 2024.
Hobson, a Tuscaloosa native will return home to continue his college football career. The former three-star recruit will be a mix between an offensive lineman and tight end.
Coming out of high school, Hobson was listed at 6-foot-5 and 295 pounds. His measurables are unconfirmed at this point in time, but his number would suggest that he has slimmed down considerably to be able to play both positions for the Crimson Tide.
It will be interesting to see what type of role Hobson carved out for the Crimson Tide for the 2025 season.
