Alabama wide receiver Germie Bernard spoke with the media following Wednesday’s spring practice. Bernard provided some context on his decision to return to Tuscaloosa for his senior season.

“Man, just some unfinished business. A nasty taste in my mouth. Being back with some of the guys, and having shot to win a national championship.”

A national championship is the ultimate goal for every college athlete, but Bernard knows how it feels to come up just short. He was a member of the Washington Huskies team that went to the national championship in 2024 and came up short against Michigan.

He transferred to Alabama following his sophomore season at Washington and quickly became a leader at wide receiver for the Crimson Tide.

As a junior, Bernard finished the season with a team-high 50 receptions for 794 yards and two touchdowns.

He will look to eclipse his career-high in receptions and receiving yards that he set last season. Bernard has the potential to be a first-round pick.

His sure hands, route running ability, and playmaking will help him reach his full potential. Alabama’s coaching staff will continue to rely on Bernard for his leadership and play during the 2025 season.
