Jam Miller thinks Alabama back ready to be RB2: ‘He is going to do his thing’

Alabama running back, Jam Miller believes redshirt sophomore tailback, Richard Young, is ready to take over the reigns as the Crimson Tide’s RB2 in 2025.

Young managed to make the most out of his opportunities during the 2024 season while participating in seven games and having to share carries with Jam Miller, Justice Haynes and Jalen Milroe. He rushed for two touchdowns and 146 yards on 27 rushing attempts.

Miller is excited to see what Young can do with more carries in the future now that Milroe is taking his dynamic running ability to the NFL and Haynes is a Michigan Wolverine.

“With me and Richard (Young), I feel like we can be a great duo,” Miller said. “And of course, all the others guys, we all just want to continue to get better.”

Miller then followed this up by adding to his belief in Young’s ability to successfully step into the RB2 role.

“When the time comes he’s going to go out there and do his thing,” Miller said.

Miller, Young and the rest of Alabama’s running back room are presented with the opportunity to return the Tide’s backfield back to one of the most feared in college football in 2025.
