Zyron Forstall earned 10 offers since the beginning of January with recent offers from Alabama, Florida State, LSU, Texas A&M and others.
Forstall attends Jesuit High School in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Alabama football was the latest program to offer the sophomore.
“Alabama is like a football school,” Forstall said. “It was a big deal when I got it. I was just thrilled, amazed seeing that the work that I put in is starting to have an effect. I know it’s a good football culture, you know. It’s nothing really around Alabama. It’s nothing to focus on except football. That’s a good thing. It’s just hard-grit football.”
The 6-foot-4, 240-pounder is a versatile defender with the ability to make plays while rushing from the edge and while playing off the ball. He knows how to set the edge while lining up as an outside linebacker along the defensive front with his ability to play in space. Most colleges feel Forstall will be an outside linebacker at the next level, but his versatility may cause him to see playing time at multiple positions.
“I’m able to come off the ball really fast, make a move, get to the quarterback, really tracking the man with the ball.”
