Alabama freshman QB says Tide freshman DB making big impact

Alabama freshman quarterback Keelon Russell recently spoke with Max Wolborsky of Score Atlanta. He provided some insight on Alabama freshman defensive back Dijon Lee Jr. and the impact that he has made through the first few spring practices.

“Man, he’s already making a big impact as a true freshman,” Russell said.

Lee Jr. was ranked as a five-star prospect by multiple recruiting services coming out of high school. The California native has a lot to like at 6-foot-4 and 197 pounds. Lee Jr. is versatile and rangy and can play multiple positions in the secondary. Alabama defensive back coach Maurice Linguist has got to be excited to coach Lee Jr. and help him develop into a contributor on Alabama’s defense in Year 1.

The thing that stands out the most about Lee Jr. is his length and athleticism. Those are two uncoachable traits that Lee Jr. possessed before ever stepping foot on campus. He has the potential to be a very special player in Tuscaloosa, and it will be interesting to continue to hear about his development throughout the course of the spring.
