Everything was moving at rapid pace when Alabama was making its transition from Nick Saban to Kalen DeBoer last year.
Just a few days after Saban retired, Crimson Tide athletic director Greg Byrne was announcing DeBoer inside Bryant-Denny Stadium.
Keeping the news under wraps until things were official was near impossible, but DeBoer’s wife, Nicole, did her best until she had to make a trip to Nordstrom.
During one of the latest episodes of Fox Nation’s “The Tides That Bing”, Nicole shared a story of a unique interaction she had with a Washington fan the day Kalen was about to jump on a plane to Tuscaloosa.
Nicole made the run to the popular outlet because of her husband’s lack of crimson ties, which could be considered an important addition to the wardrobe of Alabama’s head football coach.
After a few moments of shuffling around with the ties, it wasn’t until she reached the front of check out when it just so happened to be a Washington fan working the register who recognized the wife of the soon to be former Huskies head coach.
Despite the awkwardness of the news that was soon to come, the Huskies fan thanked the family for all they did before sending her on her way.

Since then the DeBoer family has been welcomed to the Crimson Tide family as it continues through its second spring practice of the new era.
