Return of Alabama wide receiver inspiring teammates: ‘I’m extremely proud of him’

Alabama wide receiver, Ryan Williams is encouraged by the return of Jalen Hale.

Hale is a redshirt sophomore receiver who missed all of the 2024 season after suffering a significant knee injury in practice last spring. The injury derailed the plans of an expanded role for the 6-foot-1, 192-pound receiver after he capitalized on playing time in 2023 as a freshman, reeling in five catches for 148 yards and a touchdown.

The Texas product is now back at practice with Alabama football this spring.

The dedication and determination displayed by Hale to return to the gridiron is why Williams says he is proud of his teammate.

“Jalen Hale is my superhero, just in case y’all was wondering,” Williams said. “I’m so proud of him. Like I said, all of our guys have been working hard but for him to come back like he did, he just doesn’t know — I’m extremely proud of him and I’m just excited for what the future holds.”

Alabama’s wide receiver room has a lot of talent in it, and Hale will have a shot at making an impact.
