Alabama football wide receivers are trying to get comfortable with each Alabama quarterback this spring.
Ty Simpson, Austin Mack and Keelon Russell are battling to be the Crimson Tide’s next starting quarterback, and the battle appears to be wide open.
Alabama’s coaches look to be operating under the belief this battle could go either way with the Tide’s wide receivers being moved in and out of different lineups during spring practice to get reps with different quarterbacks.
Ryan Williams shined a light on how this is being done while talking with reporters on Thursday.
“Our coaches do an amazing job at getting us in different places,” Williams said. ” Before we even come out here, I may end up with the three group just so I could run with a different quarterback. Two group, one group. It doesn’t really matter just to get a feel for each quarterback and because at the end of the day, it’s about football. We’re just leaning on our guy in the backfield and getting to hear each one vocally.”
Alabama’s quarterback competition will continue to garner interest around college football.
