Alabama starting center Parker Brailsford spoke with the media following Thursday’s practice. The former Washington Husky reflected on a moment he shared with offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb in Seattle.
“It was fall camp. It was like one of our first walkthroughs, and I was just barely getting reps. I was a freshman just coming in. It was on a two-count, and I jumped on the first one. He yelled at me. I went to touch the TNT sign that’s basically if you jump offsides, you go touch the TNT sign. The whole way I’m going to touch the TNT sign, I am getting screamed at. I needed it. It helped me get to where I am now.”
Brailsford was recruited by DeBoer and Grubb to Washington. He was a part of a Huskies team that reached the 2024 national title game against Michigan.
Several Alabama players have noticed a change on the practice field this offseason with Grubb now assuming play-calling duties. The expectation is that Grubb will take the offense to a new level. That is the belief among the coaching staff and players in the locker room.
Grubb has coached several of Alabama’s players in the past including wide receiver Germie Bernard, quarterback Austin Mack, tight end Josh Cuevas, and Brailsford. Each of them have valuable experience and a history of performing in a Grubb-led offense.
It will certainly to be interesting to see how Grubb’s style of offense transitions to the SEC in 2025. The wide expectation is that it will.
