Parker Brailsford said Alabama football’s quarterback competition has been a good battle between all three quarterbacks so far.

Austin Mack, Keelon Russell and Ty Simpson are continuing to battle to be the Tide’s next QB this spring.

Brailsford started at center for Alabama for 13 games during the 2024 season after transferring from Washington.

He is now working with each Tide quarterback this spring and getting comfortable snapping the football to them.

“Each of these guys have their own thing that makes them go,” Brailsford said. “It’s been a good battle between, honestly, all three of them. It doesn’t really change whether who I work with, depending on who I work with. I mean, it’s all. It feels all the same. Everything moves the same, the offense moves the same.”

Kalen DeBoer provided his latest thoughts on the Tide’s quarterback battle during Alabama’s Pro Day.

“It’s been what you’d expect,” DeBoer said. “A guy who is a veteran at the college level in Ty (Simpson) doing his thing. Again, feeling comfortable in Year 2 with the system. Austin Mack was with us and had familiarity with Coach Grubb, too, at Washington. This is Year 3 for Austin, actually, in the offensive system. He’s really come a long ways. Keelon, we have high, high expectations for him…I guess a high school senior but an early enrollee here. He’s done a lot of great things. There’s always a learning curve for the young guys, but he’s handling it real well.”
