During the offseason, the Alabama coaching staff made it a priority to recruit some of the top transfers. In doing so, several of the top transfers committed to the Crimson Tide.
The list includes Miami transfer wide receiver Isaiah Horton, Texas A&M transfer guard Kam Dewberry, Ball State transfer tackle Arkel Anugwom, Utah transfer cornerback Cam Calhoun, Florida transfer defensive lineman Kelby Collins, and Colorado transfer linebacker Nikhai Hill-Green.
Touchdown Alabama makes an early projection for which of those transfers will be the most impactful for the Crimson Tide in 2025.
With spring ball in full effect, there have been some promising comments made regarding Horton.
The Tennessee native will help alleviate some of the pressure that was placed on Alabama’s top two wide receivers a season ago in Germie Bernard and Ryan Williams.
Horton is a big-bodied, athletic wide receiver that possesses a wide catch radius. He is listed at 6-foot-4 and 205 pounds. Horton had a breakout year in 2024 with the Hurricanes. He finished the season with a career-high in receptions (56), receiving yards (616), and receiving touchdowns (5).
Horton’s ability to make catches in the short, intermediate, and deep passing attack will make him invaluable in a Crimson Tide offense led by offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb.
Ultimately, I believe that Horton’s playmaking ability and presence at wide receiver will provide a big boost for the Crimson Tide in 2025.
