Alabama football added Kam Dewberry to its roster via the transfer portal after the 2024 football season, giving the Tide more experience up front on offense.
Dewberry brings 32 games of experience to the Crimson Tide’s offensive line along with good energy.
“He’s a big dude, powerful guy, good hands,” Alabama offensive guard, Geno VanDeMark said. “I just like being around him. He’s a good dude, good addition to the room.”
The Texas A&M transfer played left guard for most of his offensive snaps during the 2024 season with the Aggies. VanDeMark feels Dewberry’s experience will be beneficial to the Tide’s entire room.
“He’s a guy with a ton of SEC experience,” said VanDeMark. “He’s an older guy. One of the older guys in the room. We’re not the oldest room in the country. We were pretty young last year, but we’re older now…A veteran addition for sure”
Dewberry and VanDeMark are both competing to replace Tyler. Booker at left guard along with Olaus Alinen. Parker Brailsford, who started at center and played next to Booker last season, provided some insight into the battle on last week.
“I know they’re like newer guys, but they still played a lot of ball, and they’re both really smart,” said Brailsford. “Even Olaus is, all three of them. They’re all going to be battling for it. So, we’ll just see what happens.”
