Alabama quarterback, Jalen Milroe believes he has what it takes to excel at the next professional level ahead of April’s 2025 NFL Draft.

Milroe’s confidence stems from his tenure in Tuscaloosa as a two-year starter in the SEC for the Crimson Tide. During this period, Milroe showed flashes of greatness and inconsistency as he accounted for 6,016 passing yards, 45 passing touchdowns, 33 rushing touchdowns and 17 interceptions. This experience is why the Alabama quarterback feels he is ready to excel on Sundays as he prepares to take his talents and knowledge to an NFL franchise.

“I think the No.1 thing is that I did a really good job of, being honest with myself during this whole process of what’s necessary is that I can be the absolute best I can be for the organization that I’m able to play for,” Milroe said while recently talking on the NFL Network’s Path to the Draft. “One thing that is for certain is the growth and knowledge base that goes from 2023 season to the 2024. From being able to lead a program this year because you play differently when you have knowledge and experience. I know that going to the NFL this next year, I lack experience, but it’s all about the reps that you get during the week and how you approve throughout a season. That’s the biggest thing a coach want to see is growth, am I willing to grow during that time frame of being in the NFL? And so I think there’ll be a lot of great opportunity to do that. But every coach says something differently, how they view football and what I need to improve on and how I fit their system…I just know that it’s more the experience than it is strictly the details because one thing that’s for certain is that no matter what it is, I’m capable of doing it.”

The Texas product was later asked how NFL-ready he viewed his skillset.

“I think what factors into why I made the decision to go out into this draft was my experience with having three different offensive coordinators,” Milroe answered. “I had three coordinators, Bill O’Brien, Nick Sheridan, Tommy Reese and why I mention that is because in the future, no matter where I go, I’m gonna have to learn a new offense, as well as playing for a different coach and understanding how they do football. And each of the years I had a different coordinator I was able to see football in different lenses and also expanding my knowledge base when it comes to performing their offense and picking it up. And also being a captain as well, so it’s leadership traits that come about when you’re captain and also leading the Alabama program. That’s just different than other programs. And so, I think when the question is being “NFL ready”, I think I’m NFL ready.”
