Alabama football quarterback, Ty Simpson has fully embraced the role of being leader this spring.
Alabama’s outside linebacker, Qua Russaw revealed Simpson was selected to the Tide’s leadership by his teammates in the midst of Alabama’s spring quarterback battle.
Russaw was also selected along with Tim Keenan III, LT Overton and Kadyn Proctor.
Simpson is currently the Tide’s most experienced quarterback in years in the program more than meaningful snaps. The buzz around Simpson has been positive as of late.
Alabama wide receiver, Germie Bernard shared he saw a change in Simpson early in the spring as it was clear he would have to step up if he wanted to be the next quarterback in Tuscaloosa.
“I think Ty’s mindset has changed a lot,” Bernard said. “I wouldn’t say a lot because Ty he’s been had a great mindset, and I think that he’s just really growing. He’s growing into more of a leader. He’s stepping up, and he knows what it takes. He played behind a pretty good QB. I think that he has what it takes to get the job done.”
Alabama’s quarterback battle continues to move forward with Simpson, Austin Mack and Keelon Russell still battling.
