On Wednesday, offensive guard Jaeden Roberts provided his initial impression of freshman offensive lineman Jackson Lloyd.
“Athletic, strong, and definitely like detail-oriented,” Roberts said, “He works hard and can play the position very well.”
Lloyd was ranked as one of the top offensive tackles in the 2025 recruiting class. The native of Carmel, California has the potential to play a lot in Year 1 in Tuscaloosa.
He is listed at 6-foot-7 and 310 pounds. Early indications are that Lloyd is receiving reps at left tackle this spring. Lloyd also possesses the skillset and size to play at guard as well. It will be interesting to see where Lloyd plays during A-Day and throughout fall camp.
With starting left tackle Kadyn Proctor injured, Lloyd has an opportunity to separate himself and earn the backup spot.
It will be interesting to see how Lloyd adjusts to playing at the college level. He has an opportunity to be an all-conference offensive tackle in the future if he continues to grow and develop.
