Alabama football’s transfer wide receiver, Isaiah Horton is very familiar with the Crimson Tide’s quarterback, Ty Simpson.
Horton transferred to Alabama after three years at Miami, and a long list of schools would have loved to have him join their roster. The Crimson Tide were able to snag him out of the portal, and he could be one of their biggest offseason acquisitions.
Multiple factors played a role in Horton’s decision to choose the Crimson Tide including an opportunity to play with his former 7v7 teammate, Ty Simpson.
“He was my 7-on-7 quarterback when we was in high school,” Horton said during an interview with the Crimson Tide Sports Network. “We had that little chemistry. That’s my guy. It’s kind of one of the reasons I came here, too, just to get back with him. He’s a stud. He’s going to be one of the ones. And I just believe in him. That’s my guy.”
Simpson is currently involved in a three-way quarterback battle with Austin Mack and Keelon Russell. Multiple reports as of late seem to shine a light on Simpson putting himself in a good position to win the competition.
