How Qua Russaw created lifelong memory for kid battling cancer

Last weekend, a handful of Alabama players took time to visit and spend time with a kid named Will who is currently battling cancer. The trip was orchestrated by Alabama outside linebacker Qua Russaw and the kid’s father.

During the trip, the players were able to bond and create lifelong memories with the kid.

On Friday, Russaw was asked by the media about the experience and the opportunity to do something so special for a family from a close community.

“We went down there. It was amazing man. I say like my favorite part about being there was not like bringing him stuff. It’s just like him reacting what we handed him,” Russaw said.

Some of the players that Russaw brought with him were Wilkin Formby, Kadyn Proctor, LT Overton, and James Smith.

The group of players were able to fish and shoot skeet with Will and his family.

Russaw expanded on the experience towards the end of his media session on Friday.

“We had fun. We had an amazing time. He enjoyed it too. That’s what it’s all about man. The family was happy. He’ll remember that forever.”

Russaw concluded his response by saying it was the first time that he had done anything within the community and would want to do something similar in the future.
