Alabama’s secondary will be headlined by cornerbacks Domani Jackson and Zabien Brown during the 2025 season. One cornerback that could emerge at the cornerback position is freshman Dijon Lee Jr.
Lee Jr. needs to play a key role on Alabama’s defense in 2025. Touchdown Alabama will explain why.
First off, Lee Jr. is not your prototypical cornerback. The California native is listed at 6-foot-4, 200 pounds. He can play boundary corner or serve as a nickel corner. His length and size make it difficult for wide receivers to create a lot of separation. Lee Jr. has displayed great closing speed this spring and should be a mainstay in Alabama’s defense the entire season.
The former five-star has a background of playing football and competing in track and field. In the past, Alabama has seen multiple track stars come to Tuscaloosa and have success on the gridiron. I fully expect Lee Jr. to be no different.
With Domani Jackson currently sidelined due to injury, Lee Jr. has been receiving first-team reps. He has lined up opposite of Zabien Brown this spring. When Jackson returns, he will be the starter. However, it is crucial that Lee Jr. sees as much playing time as possible. It will give the Crimson Tide’s secondary a boost and some flexibility at the cornerback position.
Lee Jr. will be an impact player, and it could happen sooner that some would expect.
