Explosive Georgia WR feels he would be good fit at Alabama after earning offer

Jaden Upshaw walked away from his visit with Alabama football Friday with an offer from the Crimson Tide.

Upshaw attends Lee County High School in Georgia, and he is a 2027 prospect. His offer list consists of offers from Florida, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and others with the Tide being the latest program to offer him.

“It definitely means a lot just growing up seeing all the great wide receivers come from there, just truly a dream,” Upshaw told Touchdown Alabama.

The sophomore feels his ability to make plays in multiple ways as a wide receiver makes him a good fit for the Alabama offense.

“Just being a guy that can make plays when needed, I’ll say with the deep concept, I’ll definitely fit perfect in that and the quick game, yards after catch and all that,” Upshaw said.

It is hard to find a wide receiver, who puts more effort into blocking than Upshaw. The 6-foot-2, 202-pounder blocks like he generally enjoys getting physical with defensive backs. This combined with his ability to be explosive after the catch and pull in contested catches, make him a talented wideout prospect.

“I will say definitely my blocking and willingness to block,” said Upshaw when asked about the strengths of his game. “I’m a very physical and can catch the ball in very uncomfortable situations.”
