There has been a lot of talk about the best potential landing spot for Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe in the draft. ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky believes one team is a ‘perfect’ landing spot for Milroe.
“If I could hand pick one team for Jalen Milroe, it would be the New York Giants…This would be the perfect place for both the player and the organization,” Orlovsky said.
Milroe is currently projected to be drafted in the first or second round. Some draft experts believe he could be drafted at the end of the first round and other draft experts believe he is a Day 2 pick at best. Regardless, Orlovsky seemed to think that the Giants are the best fit. While the Giants currently hold the No. 3 overall pick, it is unlikely that the organization would take Milroe off the board that early. In Orlovsky’s scenario, Milroe would most likely have to be available at pick No. 34.
Milroe has a lot of potential to be a promising quarterback in the NFL. He will likely need some time to develop as a passer, however. The Giants drafting Milroe would allow him to learn under two veteran quarterbacks — Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston while continuing to improve as a quarterback. Both of which would be very beneficial for the former Alabama signal-caller.
Several teams have held private workouts with Milroe including the New Orleans Saints and Cleveland Browns. The Pittsburgh Steelers have also shown interest in Milroe. With the NFL Draft taking place in about three weeks, it will be interesting to see Milroe ends up.
