Alabama football’s redshirt freshman linebacker, QB Reese has made major strides this spring, per his former and current teammate, Tim Keenan III.

Reese is a product of Ramsay High School in Birmingham, Alabama and is a former three-star recruit.

The linebacker contributed in five games for Alabama during the 2024 season. He has had more opportunities to shine this spring with Deontae Lawson and Justin Jefferson out, and he has taken full advantage.

“QB Reese been making extreme noise this spring,” Keenan said. “I’m definitely proud of him. We got to play high school together. My senior year was his freshman year, so man, I’m excited for him. The player he’s molded into, the player he’s becoming. I’m excited to see him on that field this year, hopefully.”

Reese was evaluated as one of the best coverage linebackers in the country coming out of Ramsay. Keenan told reporters Thursday the Alabama native has grown in multiple areas as of late.

“Just ball knowledge and growing into his body and stuff like that,” Keenan said. “Not saying he was undersized or whatnot, but he was at first look, You maybe think hmm, but that’s a dog. That’s a dog, and he made his way on the field. He made the coach put him in. He made himself get those reps. So shout out to QB Reese, man. Proud of you. Want you to keep going, keep your head on straight. Keep God in your life. Shout out to QB Reese.”

Alabama fans should expect Reese to get some snaps with the Tide’s first-team defense on Saturday.
