Alabama football’s defensive back, Malachi Moore is one of the more underrated players in this year’s draft class and could be one of the biggest steals in the draft, according to Max Chadwick of Pro Football Focus.
Moore flies under the radar after being a consistent mainstay in the Crimson Tide’s defensive backfield over the past five seasons. In 2024, he recorded 70 tackles, two interceptions, two forced fumbles and a team-leading eight pass deflections before having surgery on an injury he had been managing all season. This performance earned Moore second-team Associated Press All-American honors.
The Alabama safety did not participate in the NFL scouting combine or Alabama Pro Day after recovering from sports hernia surgery.
Moore remains confident in himself and still believes he is the best safety in this year’s draft class.
“I have all the confidence in myself that I’m the best safety in this draft,” Moore said to reporters at Alabama’s Pro Day in March.
The Trussville, Alabama natives stock is now trending upwards after an impressive individual Pro Day performance.
