Jah-Marien Latham is settling in at his new position this spring with the Crimson Tide ahead of his sixth year.
Latham is expected to line up at the Wolf linebacker position with the Tide in 2025 after playing along Alabama football’s defensive front in previous seasons.

The Pickens County product feels the transition has been a smooth one.
“I feel like it’s just like another position,” Latham said. “I then got the reps. I got all the mental reps. So now I just making sure I keep getting the repetition, so that I can know what’s coming.”
Latham opted to come back to Alabama for another year over taking his talents to the NFL. He said this decision was something he discussed with his family and coaches.
“That was just a decision that I had with my family and something that I talked with the coaches about,” said Latham. “We felt like it was best for me to come back and see what I can do this next year.”
There are not many players if any on Alabama’s team older than Latham. He is taking his experience as a veteran in stride.
“Last year, I was kind of like one of the oldest,” Latham told reporters. “I was still one of the oldest of the class in 2020, but like now, make me feel like an uncle. Everybody is younger than me, but, it just motivated me every day to know that it’s a lot of young guys that are looking up to me. They watching to see how I live my life and how I go about things. So, it’s like just being that role model.”
This transition does not mean Alabama will exclusively play Latham at Wolf. He could be used at multiple positions.
