Jamison Roberts is expected to take the reigns for the Saraland Spartans in 2025.
Saraland is one of Alabama’s premiere high school football programs, and the Spartans are coming off three consecutive 6A State Championship appearances, capturing a championship in 2022. Texas’ freshman quarterback, KJ Lacey was the Spartans’ starting quarterback during this stretch.
Roberts is set to be Lacey’s successor at Saraland, and he is expected to make a name for himself on the field and on the recruiting trail this fall. He does not hold an offer from any power four programs at the moment, but all signs point to this changing in the future.
The sophomore visited Florida over the weekend for the Gators’ Orange & Blue Game and left impressed with what he saw.
“The visit to the University of Florida was outstanding,” Roberts said. “The hospitality and the atmosphere were like none other I’ve ever experienced. Overall, the visit was great, and I’m glad I made the trip to the swamp.”
Roberts is listed at 6-foot-3 and 190 pounds. He started in two games in 2024, going 33-of-43 passing for 491 yards, nine touchdowns and zero interceptions. He flashed an ability to make a wide range of throws and displayed great touch when pushing the ball down the field.
