CJ Cowley felt a lot of love at Alabama when he visited the Crimson Tide for A-Day.
Cowley is a 2027 running back prospect, who currently attends Hoover High School. He holds college football offers from some of the top college football programs in the country including offers from Auburn, Oregon and Penn State. Multiple recruiting sites consider him to be a four-star recruit and one of the top running backs in the 2027 recruiting class.
The sophomore arrived at Alabama Saturday and love from Alabama’s running back coach Robert Gillespie was shown immediately.
“I got there and was showed love immediately by coach G (Gillespie),” Cowley said. “He came up to me and showed me so much love, more than any school I have ever been to.”
Cowley got to take in the Crimson Tide’s A-Day practice during his visit and left feeling like it was a place he could thrive at.
“The atmosphere was great,” said Cowley. “The fans were locked into the practice. I genuinely can see myself, if they gave me the offer, at Alabama saying Roll Tide.”
At 5-foot-11 and 180 pounds, Cowley finished the 2024 season with 793 yards and nine touchdowns. He also contributed in the passing game with 239 receiving yards and five receiving touchdowns. He recently took home the running back MVP Award at Under Armour Atlanta in February.
The four-star is an explosive running back and is easily one of the best route runners out of the backfield in the entire country.
