Nick Saban gave his thoughts on Jalen Milroe as an NFL quarterback prospect ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Saban was the Crimson Tide’s head coach during Milroe’s first three seasons at Alabama. Milroe started at quarterback during Saban’s final season.
Saban thinks his former quarterback will have an opportunity to be developed at the next level if he continues to improve as a passer.
“I think the number one thing with Jalen Milroe is this guy adds an element to your offense that nobody else has in this draft,” Saban said while talking on Sportscenter. “This guy is a tremendous athlete. I love the guy as a competitor. He can make all the throws. He’s a very good deep-ball thrower because he has a really strong arm. He made a significant amount of explosive plays. Here you see him beating people with his feet. And this is the fastest guy on the team and one of the most physical guys. I think if Jalen is going to develop in the NFL, he’s gotta become a little more consistent as a passer, and the thing I met with him (about) every week, his junior year, was eliminate your bad plays, eliminate the negative.”
Milroe will be in the green room in Green Bay, Wisconsin Thursday, hoping to have his names called as an early-round pick.
